On May 27, 1979, Carillon Concert featuring performances by Charlemagne Palestine, took place at St. Thomas Church. Within Palestine’s extensive interdisciplinary practice, some of his early musical works were created using the bells of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church. Performing two concerts in one evening, he played “a single continuous piece incorporating fifteen years of experience, drawing on bell ringing techniques he devised or developed.”
