Pearl Damour and visual artist Shawn Hall created How to Build a Forest, a visual art installation and theater performance that unfolded over eight hours. In each performance, director Katie Pearl, playwright Lisa D'Amour, Shawn Hall, and a four-person crew worked to construct, dismantle, and remove a fabricated forest within The Kitchen’s theater space. Audience members were encouraged to enter the evolving installation throughout the process. Additionally, there was a walk associated with this performance from The Kitchen along 10th Avenue to New York City's High Line.
