Mai-Thu Perret is a multidisciplinary artist who explores the structure of language and reconstructs communal and personal narratives through dairy entries, abstract paintings, and crafted objects. Her work often references feminist literature, art theory, craft and textiles practices, and Russian Constructivism. In her practice, Perret invites the viewer to reflect on the historical and visual structures in relation to the creative interventions and additions of the artist. In 2008 she had a solo exhibition at The Kitchen titled An Evening of the Book and Other Stories, which was curated by Debra Singer and Rashida Bumbray.
