Dara Friedman is an internationally acclaimed, Miami-based artist best known for her filmmaking and video installations. Her works deconstruct conventional filmmaking strategies by heightening the subjectivity of the narratives. Many of her films take place in urban settings, exploring how individuals react and behave in public settings. Her films often have a poetic quality that hones in on the emotions of the subjects, often making them feel like intimate snapshots into the subjects’ psyche. Friedman had a solo exhibition of new video installations at The Kitchen in 2005 called Sunset Island. For more information, please visit: https://gavinbrown.biz/artists/dara_friedman/works
