Alfonia Timms and his Flying Tigers was a downtown afro jazz-funk ensemble that released one album, FutureFunk/Uncut! in 1982 just weeks after the sudden death of lead vocalist Alfonia Timms, who was also an active member of the Oliver Lake Band. The band was: Alfonia Tims (guitar and vocals), Larry Modula (alto saxophone), Arthur Barron (tenor saxophone), Mike Walters (baritone and soprano saxophone), Mack Gollehon (trumpet), Martin Aubert (guitar), Alon Oleartchik (bass) and Tim Horner (drums).The band released their only cassette with No Wave label ROIR and performed at The Kitchen's 1980 concert "In The Bronx."
