Memento Mori

Postcard Front

Presented in The Kitchen’s second floor space on January 22–February 1, 1992, Memento Mori was an installation by visual and performance artist Karen Finley. Combining text and objects with tableaux vivants, the installation dealt with the controversial subjects of abortion rights and the AIDS epidemic. Entwining love and loss, and merging public and private spaces, Memento Mori offered an inclusive space of grief and reflection.
