In this collaboration, Constance DeJong and Tony Oursler presented a fictitious family through the creation of a modern icon. During the performance, De Jong was reading and speaking and Oursler was in charge of the video. Their project featured a hybrid family tree resulting from the combination of technological evolution and biological generations. A continuous intersection between music and video illustrated the progressive evolution of the presentation of visual imagery, from painting to computer technology and video games. Relatives offered a new configuration for the intersection and collaboration of writing and video works.
