Jesus

Michael Auder's piece Jesus premiered at The Kitchen in 1980. This work mixed footage from evangelical TV programs, books, paintings, and other Jesus-related imagery with performances by Taylor Mead, as a priest in the West Village, and Florence Lambert, playing a crucified Jesus. Interspersed throughout were interviews with Auder’s friends, family, and people he approached on New York City streets about faith and their relationships to Jesus.
