Y Pants

Y Pants was a New York-based feminist No Wave band. They played actively from 1979 to 1982. The trio, made up of photographer/musician Barbara Ess (ukulele and bass guitar), visual artist Virginia Piersol (drums), and filmmaker Gail Vachon (toy piano), developed a unique sound which they called "amplified toy rock." They performed at The Kitchen's 1980 off-site concert "In The Bronx"
