Sally Silvers is an American choreographer, dancer, and poet, based in New York, New York. Silvers has been choreographing experimental, often playful, works which explore the ways in which the body exists at the junction of social paradigms, politics, and pressures, since the 1980’s. Silvers writes: “I want to produce the body anew—while acknowledging its social formation—by problematicizing the relationship we have to our bodies and what this reveals about the social world.” Silvers & Dancers performed Pandora’s Cake Stain at The Kitchen in 1996, and Storming Heaven in 2000.
