Ping Chong is an internationally recognized director, writer, and multi-disciplinary artist whose work considers race, culture, history, art, media and technology. In 1975 he founded Ping Chong & Company, which produces theatrical works ranging from small-scaled oral history projects to multidisciplinary productions exploring cultural and civic issues. He is the recipient of several honors including an Obie Award for Sustained Achievement (2000), the Doris Duke Artist Award for Theater (2013), and the National Medal of Arts (2014).
