PearlDamour is the performance collective of Lisa D’amour and Katie Pearl. Founded in 2001, PearlDamour works with multiple mediums by engaging in extensive collaboration with visual artists, videographers, choreographers, set designers, composers, and directors to creative immersive works attending to the performer-audience relationship. The duo and their collaborators create interdisciplinary performances in traditional theater spaces and more unconventional spaces; searching for new approaches to narrative through the accumulation of text, image, physicality and architectural elements. PearlDamour's show How to Build a Forest premiered in 2011 at The Kitchen. In this work artists worked together to build and dissemble a polysynthetic simulation of a forest in the theater over an eight-hour period.
