Mabou Mines is a New-York based experimental ensemble formed in 1970 by Lee Breuer and Ruth Maleczech, who created this theater company under the suggestion of Philip Glass and JoAnne Akalaitis. The company explores ideas on language, literature, music, performance, and the visual arts. Mabou Mines was included in the audio installation A Listening Room at The Kitchen in 1980.
