As part of The Kitchen’s March in Motion series in 1991, Susan Rethorst presented Picture This. In describing her approach to creating this piece to Jennifer Dunn of The New York Times, Rethorst said, “I’ve come more and more to believe that movement cannot be abstract; that it carries with it implication and meaning, cultural and associative implications.”
